Thrustmaster mfd flight control panels3/13/2024 There's more to VTOL than that, so you'd need binds/access to landing gear, flaps, HUD power and brightness, up to 3 MFD power, MFD brightness, up to 60 MFD buttons, jettison buttons, COMMS switches and knobs, engine/APU/battery switches, visor + NVG toggles. You will have to still use motion controls to do everything else in the cockpit, which would not solve the "accessibility" issue. If HOTAS requesters only want to be able to control pitch, yaw, roll, throttle, fire weapon, switch weapon, control SOI, tilt engines, PTT, air brake, then it would not take long. Although it may be technically possible with a mouse, head pointing, or some combination of HOTAS and motion controls, it won't be without the clumsiness that I intended to move away from in the first place.Ĭall me stupid, but in my opinion, looking for HOTAS support here is like looking for mouse/keyboard support in Onward, H3VR, HL:A, etc. I don't think that there's a way to provide the level of interaction that I'm aiming for while using a HOTAS, especially with all of the cockpit systems like the MFDs and touch screens. The game was designed from the beginning to be entirely virtual, allowing you to directly interact with the various controls as if you were sitting there in the cockpit. This was not the level of immersion I was looking for, so I got to work on VTOL VR. ![]() ![]() The very first time I tried it, I was immediately frustrated by having to feel around for my keyboard and peek through the nose hole to make sure I was pressing the right keys to access the different cockpit functions. I got my first VR headset with the sole intention of using it to play flight sims. Thanks for all of your guy’s help and reply’s. Maybe one day if another mod comes out for the game that has better support for a HOTAS system then MAYBE I’ll try it out, but in the meantime, I’m just gonna stick with the basics. Even then it just seems like an excessive amount of work to set up something that might not even work (and the risk of hundreds of dollars going to waste) So for now I’m just gonna go with the games native controls.
